Nearr today is introducing a new feature called AR View that lets customers visualize online products in their own living space, using their smart phone camera. It is going to be launched soon in the Nearr app for both Android and iOS devices, AR View offers the ability to view thousands of products for the home or office – including fashion, furniture, electronics, toys, games, home decor and more – in augmented reality.

Lets have a small zest of what AR is? Augmented reality is the integration of digital information with the user’s environment in real-time…. AR applications for smartphones typically include global positioning system (GPS) to pinpoint the user’s location and its compass to detect device orientation. Augmented reality has the potential to change that behavior, as it allows consumers to imagine items not just in a finished room, but in their own room.

How augmented reality can enhance shopping experiences

Augmented reality shopping experiences let consumers view colours, sizes and dimensions of various personal and lifestyle products like fashion, electronics, baby and kids, home and furniture etc. AR platforms can also be used to market services and products using embedded digital content like videos and promotional apps to engage a large number of people. Augmented Reality apps in retail environments can also act as digital customer service assistants and provide shoppers with information on products.

The elements in real-world environment are augmented or supplemented by the computer-generated sensory inputs which are in the form of graphics, video, sound or GPS data. Augmented Reality (AR) is a way to directly or indirectly view this real-world environment.

Bridging The Gap Between in-store and Online Shopping with Augmented Reality

Augmented reality is one such area that has massive level of application in the retail space. Through the augmented reality the retailers will be able to get connected with the customers, whether they are inside or outside the store. It also helps to enhance the shopping experience of the customer, making their survival easier, in this highly competitive market place.

Some of the benefits offered by AR are Enhanced shopping experience, improved productivity, customer reach, reduced returns and also customer engagement.

AR is absolutely necessary for the in-store owners, particularly when 2 billion people worldwide are using smartphones and 82 % of people are using their smartphones, only for online shopping. The modern smartphone are equipped with powerful accelerometers, GPS receivers and compasses which conveys the exact location of the device.

Here’s an example:  Suppose you in a new neighborhood or exploring another city? You are unaware of the place and you need to buy a gift for your relative who lives in that particular city and whom you are visiting the next day for lunch. You are searching for a nice gift. All you need to do is download the Nearr App and that will show you the stores what’s nearby and where you should go and also where you can get the best deals & discounts. The AR apps let you filter by category so you can find exactly what you’re looking for, whether it’s a garment store, home decor shops, gift shops etc. And you won’t need to worry about getting turned around — the AR app will adapt based on on your location and show you nearby stores which might have a huge discounts or a sale.

Nearr plans  to bring Augmented Reality to the common man.The app will bring a rapid revolutionary change in the way people do retail shopping. A marketplace that helps shoppers to find products, value for money deals etc available in different stores along with a location-based augmented reality feature to see deals and discounts running across different stores using the camera lens in real-time. Location based AR apps are major forms of AR apps. Users can access information about nearest places relative to current location. They can get information about places and choose based on user reviews.
